It is the Organizing Committee's utmost desire that through the sponsoring of the World Championships here in Mie and the peformances of the athletes that we are able to inspire citizens and children to gain a love of sports and a desire to grow up well-rounded.

We hope that the athletes will impart to us the splendor of sports as they impress us with their beauty and strength as they perform. We also hope that the cultural and economic development that comes with the hosting of this event will leave a lasting legacy that will benefit all the citizens of Mie.

Goals of the Event

In order to realize the most memorable World Championships in history, we have set out the following goals:

  • - Aim to manage the event in a way that allows each and every athelete to perform at their physical peak, and provide unsurpassed hospitality
  • - Encourage an interest in sports such as rhymthic gynmastics and also cultivate a sports culture here in Mie through the sponsoring of this event.
  • -Raise awareness about Mie and encourage economic development through information campaigns and exchange with our international guests at the event.

Official Airport

Chubu International Airport (Centrair) is the official airport for the 29th Rhythmic World Championships. Featuring the latest in airport amenities such as a hot spring and a large shopping mall, it has become a destination in its own right. It is very popular not just with travellers, but also with the general population. Access to Mie will be provided by high speed ferries that connect the two locations.

Competition Hall

The venue for the event will be the prefectural Sun Arena. It is a beautiful multi-purpose facility with an exterior based on the theme of "Ship, Sea, Sail." With over 3849 sq meters in floor space, and seating capacity of 11,000 people, it is the perfect venue for international competitions. The main arena is equipped with a large screen and sports lighting equipment. The rest of the arena's facilities have also been reserved for the event as well. These include the sub-arena, (1,624 square meter in floor space and seating capacity for 3000 people), International Conference Room, (complete with facilites for simultaneous translation), Reception Room, and Conference Rooms.
