Transportation Infrastructure in MieMie’s transportation infrastructure supporting its industries: road networks, next-generation transportation, and Yokkaichi Port
Located nearly at the center of Japan, Mie Prefecture is a transportation hub offering excellent transportation access through a network of expressways linking the Tokyo metropolitan area with the Chubu and Kinki regions. These include the Higashi-Meihan and Isewangan Expressways and the Meihan National Route. In addition, currently under construction are the Shin-Meishin Expressway and Tokai-Kanjo Expressway linking the Nagoya metropolitan areas in a loop. After these new expressways open, economic activities are expected to be further revitalized through the strengthened network of expressways, improved access from other prefectures, and increased mobility opportunities for people.
